We are unable to prescribe semaglutide/liraglutide weight loss injections. 

The pathway for getting access to these injections is via a specialist tier 3 weight management service. Before patients can access the tier 3 service they will need to complete a tier 2 programme, more information is here: . Both self-referral and referral via GPs is accepted.

Tirzepatide injections for weight loss are not currently available and will not be accessible to everyone who wishes to use it.

Initially, tirzepatide will only be available on the NHS to individuals facing the most significant health risks related to their weight, starting in spring 2025, through specialist weight management services. 

A staged approach for rolling this service out is currently being developed to ensure the NHS in England can manage the flow of patients so it does not become overwhelmed. This will ensure the service is delivered safely and that the NHS in England is able to plan for an increase in service demand, whilst building specific skills and knowledge within the workforce.
