- Profile
-
I am a chartered psychologist, and an accredited psychotherapist. I have lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in psychology, and in counselling and psychotherapy, for the last twenty-five years. I have held academic appointments at the º£½ÇÉçÇø of Salford, Leeds Beckett º£½ÇÉçÇø, º£½ÇÉçÇø of Central Lancashire, and the º£½ÇÉçÇø of Leeds.
My PhD research has explored men’s experiences of depression, which I have approached through theories of critical studies of men and masculinities. Additionally, I have conducted research in the use of psychological support in the workplace, and I have published in professional journals on issues related to psychotherapy and clinical supervision. My active research interests are, broadly, in men’s mental health.
