This online taster session will give you an insight into what it's like to study East Asian studies at university. You'll have the chance to hear from our East Asian studies academics, participate in a taster lecture and engage with current undergraduates.

The Rise of Game Survival Narratives in East Asian Cinema and Television

From 'Battle Royale' to 'Squid Game,' discover the cultural significance and growing popularity of this unique genre while you learn about the captivating world of East Asian game survival narratives. 

Join us to learn how these dystopian stories reflect the social and political landscapes of contemporary East Asian societies while we dive into the thrilling world of game survival narratives. 

This session is suitable for students in years 12 and 13.

  • 6.20pm: Question and answer session about the lecture and with current students on East Asian Courses
