Welcome UI Associate Rafaella Lima

Rafaella is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the Management School where she is investigating how asset management firms extract and protect wealth through real estate and shape urban development across uneven geographies.

Rafaella Lima

Rafaella’s research interests lie at the intersection of accounting and finance, urban geography and political economy. She is particularly interested in how geographies of housing and urban development relate to wider relations of financial subordination.

Rafaella is looking forward to participating in and supporting UI activities, such as through the Urban Riches theme as well as the Sheffield Urbanism ECR network, where she is co-organising the re-launch of the ‘critical friends’ writing feedback group. She will also continue to help build productive engagement between the UI and the Management School's Centre for Researching Finance and Accounting in Context (CRAFiC), for example with the 'Accounting for the City' seminar series.
